June 5, 1821 – The Founding of Bolton

On June 5th, 1821, George Bolton purchased a 200 acre mill site, becoming the first settler in this part of the Humber River valley. His flour mill, built at the bend in what is now Mill Street, was the catalyst for our community.

This site contains information about the upcoming Bicentennial Celebrations in Bolton. As a result of COVID-19, this major event is being honoured a year late. The main celebration will occur over the weekend of June 4/5, 2022 but there will be other programmes happening during the leadup to these dates.

Stayed tuned!!
